17 Ratchet Solutions Built for Speed.

Watch how Race Reels® removes repeated strap handling, loose webbing and unnecessary steps from loading through to storage. The exact workflow improvements are listed below.

WHAT THE SYSTEM REMOVES

The 17 Ratchet Steps and Hassles You No Longer Need.

For those who prefer a written summary, look at the long list of improvements grouped across loading, transit preparation, release, retrieval and storage—every load, every day.

Loading and Securing

  1. No throwing full-length webbing
  2. No handling full-length straps far beyond the vehicle
  3. No unnecessary collision-risk exposure
  4. No pre-flattening straps before threading
  5. No threading webbing through the ratchet
  6. No pulling excess webbing through the ratchet

Preparing for Transit

  1. No hand-rolling excess strap before transit
  2. No tying off excess strap rolls
  3. No loose strap rolls to accidentally unwind

Releasing and Retrieving

  1. No untying or unknotting before release
  2. No frustration and hand-jarring trying to unjam the ratchet
  3. No unrolling excess strap and pre-flattening before release
  4. No pulling the full excess length back through the ratchet
  5. No throwing the full-length strap back over the load
  6. No unnecessary far-side exposure during retrieval

Storage

  1. No hand-rolling full-length straps for storage
  2. No tangled straps in storage

Less handling. Less loose webbing. Less time wasted. One cleaner load-restraint workflow.

MEET THE RACE REELS® SYSTEM

Two Purpose-Built Tools. One Cleaner Workflow.

The ratchet and tensioned webbing restrain the load. The reel manages the untensioned webbing. Each tool has one clear role, and every feature supports that role.

Tool 1 — Load Tensioner

Side-Loading Ratchet with Reverse

Fast and easy tensioning of only the amount of strap needed to reach over the load.

The ratchet performs the load-bearing job with a simpler loading action and greater leverage.

Design features

Side-Load in Seconds

Side-loading is fast and easy.

More Leverage

An extended ergonomic handle for easier tensioning and leverage.

Locking Knob

Locking Knob to prevent spindle from sliding out if tension is low.

Offset Handle For Easier Hands-free Tensioning

The offset handle allows tensioning without handle frame intrusion. This allows the strap to be below the ratchet out of the way during tensioning which keeps hands free to hold ratchet and tension without having to deal with the excess strap. Note the Reel conveniently hangs below the ratchet out of the way whilst tensioning.

Reverse Drive

Reverse the spindle direction to help release overfilled webbing and recover quickly from a ratchet jam using a common shifter. Fast and easy and no more jarring hands.

Tool 2 — Strap Manager

Specialised Reel

Retains and manages the webbing throughout the entire load-restraint workflow.

The Reel and the webbing stored inside it are not load-bearing. Only the ratchet and section of webbing reaching over the load is under tension; the Reel only manages the untensioned portion of the strap which is what saves so much time and hassle.

Design features

Webbing Stays Controlled

The Reel takes care of the webbing the entire cycle to help operators do their job faster, easier and safer. Designed for high-impact resistance, it is built tough for daily use and abuse. Note the strap is permanently housed in the Reel because the end is not needed because of the side-loading ratchet. Perfect.

No Hand-Rolling

No more hand rolling nightmare. The reel can wind 9m in seconds. Ultra-Fast & Ultra-Easy. How it should be.

Anti-release for accidental-unwinding risk

The Reel has a ratchet spool to prevent accidental unwindings. A spring-loaded lever with bumpers around it also protect it from being depressed if it was accidentally knocked during transit. The reel also has a drag system to control the release ease and speed to aid use and also act as a secondary safety redundancy.

Spring-loaded Steel Clip Jaws

The Reel has a high tensile steel clip that has been engineered to hold more than the full weight of the Reel. It can secure the reel onto the tensioned strap about the ratchet or on to the back of the ratchet base. The folded lock jaw design with an internal guide in the Reel Frame keep it secure during transit.

No Tangles in Storage

The complete strap stays wound and organised on the reel between jobs, helping prevent tangled webbing and time-consuming sorting. No more storage box full of tangled straps!

Guide Arm Pre-Flattens webbing

The guide arm straightens and pre-flattens the webbing as it is wound, helping it store neatly and feed out cleanly.

Stainless Hardware

Stainless-steel hardware improves corrosion resistance and durability in demanding transport environments.

Ergonomic Design

The frame design allows for different size hands and for wearing gloves, whilst maximising winding ease of a full 9m webbing.

Why the reel spool may feel flexible

The Specialised Reel is a webbing-management tool—not a load-bearing restraint component. Its job is to manage the webbing in an impact-resistant light-weight form suited to rugged every day use. The flexibility is built in to the spool section to aid impact resistant when dropped or thrown. It's all purpose-built. Fast. Easy.
